FLASH! DWP Funding Begins to Flow for SONP Repairs
The following email was received this afternoon from Bureau of Street Services...
“I am happy to inform you that we plan to start the clean-up work this coming Monday, December 14. [Due to chances of rain this weekend, this may be delayed.] Actually, as of today, some of our crews have been on site and begun locating irrigation sleeves that may be clogged.”
“As Robert [Gutierrez, Landscape Architect, BSS] had informed you last week, DWP requested that BSS file a claim and perform the repairs on a time-and-material basis. However, earlier today we were informed by our contact at DWP that he has been authorized to transfer [initial funds] towards the cost of our repair.”
“At this time, our financial division will work with DWP to transfer the funds while BSS will begin the repair and complete the median improvements project.”
“Our apologies for such long delay. Thank you for your patience as always.”

A BIG SONP Steering and community thank-you to you, Robert and BSS for you and your department’s interest, involvement and persistence in working with DWP and the City Attorney’s Office to find a way to fix our park.
SONP Steering hopes that the homeowners and businesses that surround SONP can claim similar remediation success with the DWP and the City Attorney’s Office.
It is the homeowners and businesses of the Studio Oaks Park area who are hurting the most - our thoughts and wishes are with them...
